Team AfSU

Zara Samia is the Director of Internal Affairs at AfSU. In this role, she holds strategic oversight of the Union's internal governance and policy framework. She is also the lead point of contact for internal team mentorship and capacity development within AfSU. Zara joined AfSU in June 2023 as an Internal Affairs Officer before progressing to Director of Operations, where she led event coordination and strategic planning for over a year. Her journey within AfSU reflects her deep commitment to fostering collaboration, accountability, and long-term growth within her student community. Alongside her work at AfSU, Zara is a Legal Assistant at London Law Solicitors and an LLB Law undergraduate at the University of Westminster. She supports solicitors across family, housing, dispute resolution, and property law, gaining experience in both litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Zara is passionate about creating lasting impact. Through her work at AfSU, she aims to build a sense of belonging among students, while building a platform that encourages personal growth, collaboration, and meaningful engagement.
